the long and short of it, meal plan Monday and FO’s

First off let me say this:

The amount of support I’ve gotten from everyone has been nothing short of amazing.  I have been moved to tears over and over again by everyone’s comments and emails – thank you is really a very weak phrase for the depth of my gratitude.

So I will be having heart surgery in the next two weeks; it cannot be put off because the “bad” valve is beginning to weaken my overall heart function.  The date will be set in the next couple of days, and I’ll let you know.  No, they do not know what has caused this – other than this wonky mitral valve I am rather healthy.

Last Friday, I had a cardiac catheterization and the good news is that I have no arterial blockages at all.  it was an extremely strange sensation to fell the tubes probing around in my heart I can tell you.

Meal Plan Monday:
Mon_  Beef Stew and noodles
Tues-Chicken Parmesan
Wednesday – Chili & rice
Thurs. – salad bar
Fri- baked spaghetti
Sat – homemade pizza
Sun – tacos

I finished Ice Queen fer my secret pal and it’s blocking/drying right now. This was a fun knit – though the beads are rather fiddly.  I will be making this again. I also made a little soap sliver bag out of some really pretty Sugar n’ Cream cotton….but I haven’t pictures for these yet.  I have a pair of Monkey socks on the needles as well as a Skinny Vintage Velvet Scarf.  I neeed to do more lace though – it’s such fun!

Here are some other pictures of things I’ve done recently:

Pattern: Halfpipe Hat from Son of Stitch n’ Bitch
Yarn: Mountain Colors Bearfoot in Bark Brown; handspun alpaca from swap partner (tan)

Pattern: Tychus hat (I named this one Crayon Vomit)
Yarn: Red Heart Acrylic in Mexicana, Rowan Cashsoft Aran in Black

Ian wanted these colors very much and he has worn it several times since I knit it for him.

Pattern: Ribbed Beanie by Wooly Wormhead (I modified her pattern somewhat)
Yarn: handspun alpaca from swap partner, Mountain colors

I wish I could remember which swap partner I got this from a couple of years ago – this yarn is so soft and warm – I simply adore it and wish I could get more.

Pattern: Ribbed Beanie by Wooly Wormhead (I modified her pattern a whole lot)
Yarn: Ultra Alpaca in Olive Drab, Nashua Handknits Creative Focus Superwash in Brown, Rowan Cashsoft Aran
